PM Mitsotakis gets third dose of vaccine against Covid, urges Greeks to follow his example

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday visited the "Prometheus" Mega Vaccination Centre and got the third dose of a vaccine against the novel coronavirus, appealing to all Greeks to follow his example and primarily those that have not yet had their first dose.

"I have just completed the third dose of the vaccine against Covid-19, faithfully following the advice of the experts. I beg that everyone, women and men, do the same..." the prime minister said.

This was true for those getting their third dose but even more so for those that have not yet been vaccinated, he added, noting: "the data are now so emphatic that they do not permit any doubt concerning the efficacy and safety of the vaccine. Nine in 10 of our fellow citizens that are now on ventilators have not been vaccinated and a very large number of our fellow citizens that lose their lives each day are also not vaccinated."

He urged Greeks to "listen to the scientists and see the true facts", and to make haste to get vaccinated so as to raise the overall vaccination rate in the country, thus protecting themselves, their loved ones and society as a whole.

After his vaccination, Mitsotakis spoke briefly with Deputy Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Evangelos Tournas and the Secretary General for Civil Protection Vassilis Papageorgiou about the preparations for the severe weather phenomena expected in Greece in the next few days.
