Two minor police incidents downtown early on Sunday

Unknown persons attacked police early on Sunday in the Athens neighborhood of Exarchia.

According to Greek police, a group of 30 people exited Didotou Street at around 02:00 and threw firebombs, rocks, and other objects at a riot police unit on Charilaou Trikoupi Street.

In an unrelated incident, a homemade explosive device blew up shortly before 03:00 at the entrance to an apartment building in the Gyzi neighborhood of Athens.

Police said the explosion damaged lightly the entrance to the building. The police's explosive unit found the remainders of the device at the site on the corner of Paparrigopoulou Street and Alexandras Avenue, including a melted plastic container with flammable material.

At both incidents, there were no injuries, or round ups for questioning at police stations.
