National Defense Minister Nikos Dendias paid a visit to the construction site of the General Hospital of Komotini/Stavros Niarchos Foundation on Friday, in company with Rodopi Deputy Evripidis Stylianidis.
Dendias, who was in the northeastern Greek city for a visit to the 21st Armored Brigade stationed in the area, said in a post on X that the hospital "is being constructed and equipped with an exclusive grant of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation" (SNF).
In his post, the minister added, "I was informed by Ambassador Ioannis Raptakis (ret.), member of the Foundation's board of directors, about the new hospital, which is a design masterpiece by Renzo Piano and will offer the highest-level health services to residents of Rodopi, the rest of Thrace, and our wider Balkan neighborhood." Dendias also expressed his appreciation to SNF for close collaboration on providing technical know-how to military hospitals and to Foundation President Andreas Drakopoulos for their contribution to Greek society.
