Police evacuate area around Thessaloniki's Aristotelous Square in response to bomb threat

Police on Wednesday evacuated a bank branch on Aristotelous Square in the centre of Thessaloniki, as well as the next-door building and surrounding roads, in response to a bomb threat made in a phone call to an Athens television station, claiming an explosive device had been planted in the bank.

A team of police bomb disposal experts (TEEM) have been called in to investigate.
