The weather in central and northern Greece will temporarily deteriorate on Saturday night, with rain and storms that will last until the afternoon on Sunday, the National Meteorological Service (EMY) warned.
The areas that will initially be affected will be in the north Ionian Sea, Epirus and the west Central Greece, while after midnight the worst weather will be in Macedonia, especially central and eastern Macedonia, the northern parts of Thessaly, the north Sporades islands and the island in the north Aegean.
The weather service warned of strong rain and winds, possibly accompanied by hail, that will affect the northern Ionian Sea, Epirus, Macedonia, Thrace, Thessaly, the Sporades islands, Evia, the north Aegean and possibly western Central Greece from Saturday night to Sunday morning.
Large quantities of rain are expected in Thessaloniki, the Thermaikos Gulf and Halkidiki during the night and then in the Sporades, eastern Macedonia-Thrace and the north Aegean on Sunday morning.
The phenomena will start to subside on Sunday afternoon from the northwest.
