Seven-day quarantine for travellers from the UK
New measures regarding all arrivals from the United Kingdom are valid from Monday, December 21, starting at 6:00, according to an announcement by the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management Nikos Hardalias.
Specifically, from Monday, at 6:00 in the morning, a mandatory seven-day period of self isolation at home comes into force, instead of the three days that apply for arrivals from any other country.
This new measure is complementary to existing restrictions, such as the obligation of all travellers to have proof of a negative molecular (PCR) test taken in the last 72 hours, which continues to apply, while they will still have to undergo a mandatory test upon arrival in the country.
The health ministry Committee of Experts for the management of the new coronavirus will evaluate the scientific data in more detail and make further suggestions.
