Main opposition PASOK-Movement for Change spokesperson Kostas Tsoukalas on Tuesday referred to the energy agreements signed with American companies, which he called positive while awaiting their full content, in an interview with Real FM.
“Any energy agreement that is accompanied by the exercise of sovereign rights and strengthens our economic interests is a step in a positive direction. Of course, we must always examine the terms of these contracts,” he stressed, adding: “We are the party that, as a government, created the framework on which these agreements are based. Under New Democracy there were very significant delays. There were statements by the Prime Minister that sent the wrong messages, and in the past we also saw the withdrawal of major giants such as TOTAL.”
Regarding the OPEKA case, Tsoukalas clarified that it is “striking that New Democracy is maintaining silence, offering no comment and not even expelling its senior official in Heraklion who is being held on remand and appears to be under investigation for concealing assets amounting to 10 million euros. We are talking about an official who frequently accompanied ministers. It surprises me that this fact is not even being commented on.”
