Attica regional governor Dourou receives deadline to testify on fires
Attica Regional Governor Rena Dourou received an extension to the deadline for providing explanations to investigators on the lethal fires that struck the area of Mati this past summer.
Dourou, along with 20 other heads of entities and services, has been summoned to testify before an investigator and she received a new deadline for November 22.
Prosecutors have sent out summons on possible criminal liability to all heads of agencies and services responsible for dealing with the fire and its consequences. Nearly 100 people died in or as consequence of the fire, which also destroyed East Attica homes.
