'Flying Dolphin XVII' returns to Piraeus due to mechanical failure

The hydrofoil "Flying Dolphin XVII" was forced to return to the port of Piraeus with 100 passengers and six crew on board on Thursday, after developing a mechanical fault shortly after its departure.

The ferry, which was plying the route from Piraeus to Poros, Hydra, Ermione, Spetses and Porto Heli was banned from sailing until repairs are carried out.

Alternative arrangements to get passengers to their destination were made by the ship owner.
