Debate on draft education bill begins in parliament
The debate on the education ministry's bill "University admissions, protection of academic freedom, upgrading of the academic environment and other provisions" got underway on Tuesday in the parliament plenum and will last at least two days.

The bill was tabled in the plenum for discussion after being passed by ruling New Democracy deputies in parliament's Educational Affairs committee. Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, Movement for Change (KINAL), the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and MeRA25 voted against, while Elliniki Lysi expressed reservations.
