Tsipras on World Refugee Day
SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras posted a message in social media on ocassion of World Refugee Day on Monday.
"In a time of climate crisis, the rise of the far-right and of nationalism, of conflicts in our neighborhood and the war returning to our European home, the struggle for the rights of refugees and those most vulnerable is the struggle for the rule of law. It is the struggle for the rights of us all," noted the main opposition party leader.
Tsipras added that "we stand against the dogma of Greece being a so-called 'storehouse of souls', which also assumes the dangerous responsibilities of a fortress Europe. We are fighting for a Europe that addresses the root causes behind refugees fleeing (...), for a Europe that builds bridges for those who need it the most."
