The country is mired in insecurity, Tsipras says

"The country is mired in insecurity, uncertainty and the bleakness of sordid revelations about surveillance, while the government's doctrine is to take money out of consumers' pockets, through VAT, and put it in the pockets of the cartels through subsidies," main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras said on Tuesday during a tour of downtown Serres.

Referring to Monday night's speech by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at a meeting of the Political Committee of ruling New Democracy, Tsipras called it "the delusions of a panicked and guilty prime minister," saying that "I am not at all concerned with finding answers today" to what he said, but how "we will provide an answer to the problems of society, to the problems of the citizens."

He underlined that there is an alternative and the sooner hope comes with political change the better, not for one party but for the whole country.
