Increase in suicide rates in Northern Greece

The suicide rates for 2012 in Thraki and in the region of Eastern Macedonia are shocking.

As it is shown from the analysis of statistical data on death causes, recorded in 2012 in Xanthi, Komotini and Evros, officially 26 suicides were recorded, while in the region of Estern Macedonia 81.

Specifically, in 2012 in Xanthi 3 suicides are recorded, in Rodopi 16 and in Evros 17, holding the first place in that sadly event. Respectively for the same period, 11 suicides were recorded in Drama and 10 in Kavala.

The incidents attributed to poor psychological state, which leads to suicide, while the data show that the most common method was hanging.
